    Todwick Historical Society

    Meetings at 7.30pm on the second Tuesday of every month for members of the village who are interested in discussing and collecting documents regarding the local heritage of the area. We have created some online resources to help public understanding of our history.

  • Whiston Heritage Society

    Whiston Heritage Society

    Whiston is a picturesque village located in South Yorkshire, close to the town Rotherham. It has a number of listed buildings; several of which have a history associated with them. The most significant of these is the Manorial Barn - the only such building of its kind in the north of England. In addition, there are a number of pleasant walks around the village; and many public houses, which provide traditional refreshment.
  • Woodsetts Local History Group

    Woodsetts Local History Group

    To promote the advancement of education of the public in all aspects of the history of Woodsetts, South Yorkshire in particular but not exclusively by the provision of publications, meetings, exhibitions, lectures and such other means as the trustees think fit, including undertaking research, recording and (whenever possible) publishing the history of the area, its people and life style from its earliest times to the present day. Monthly evening meetings at St George’s Church.

    Worsbrough Local History Society

    A group with interested in Worsbrough history and the surrounding area. Projects have included the publication of books to raise money for local restoration projects.

    Yorkshire Main Commemorative & Heritage Trust

    An organisation set up to commemorate Yorkshire Main Colliery in Edlington. The Colliery closed in 1985.
  • Yorkshire Vernacular Buildings Study Group

    Yorkshire Vernacular Buildings Study Group

    A voluntary body which studies the vernacular buildings of Yorkshire in detail, and uses documentary and oral evidence from a variety of sources,to build up a picture of the different styles of local architecture.
