Brinsworth and Catcliffe Local History Group

The aims of the Group are:

  • To promote the knowledge learned by research to the wider audience of Brinsworth and Catcliffe.
  • To share this information to the younger generation by visiting local schools.
  • To record this information for years to come.

Many of the elderly residents have recorded their life stories and they are in the archives at Brinsworth Comprehensive School.

Throughout the winter we have a monthly lecture series and in the summer organise visits to local sites and museums. We have recently taken part in two courses which has expanded the range of archaeological activity that we do.

We are a friendly group who welcome new members. Membership is only £10 a year. Lectures are £1 for members, refreshments are free.Visits are at an additional charge but we keep costs as low as we can through car sharing and group admission prices.
