Friends of Hyde Park Cemetery
Hyde Park Cemetery is a green oasis in urban Doncaster, providing vital habitat for a wide range of plants and animals. It is also a place to escape for a while from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The cemetery opened in 1856 and is still in use today. It is the final resting place of over 56,000 people. This 15-acre site tells the story of Doncaster over the past century and a half. The Friends of Hyde Park Cemetery are a group of volunteers working closely with the site’s owner, Doncaster Council, to make a visit to the cemetery a pleasant and rewarding experience.
