Background

A local history group for residents of Gleadless Valley to find out more about their community and its history. Meets at Newfield Green Tenants Hall,  every Friday 2-4pm.

Gleadless Valley is the name given to the post-war housing estate that straddles the peripheries of four parishes in one of the hilliest area’s of Sheffield.The original landscape was working woodland and farms with an ancient hamlet on either side of the Meersbrook which defined the pre 1900 county boundary.

Oral History, Collecting and Collating primary data.

We are supported by Gleadless Valley TARA (Tenants and Residents Assoc.) and self funded.
