South Yorkshire Biodiversity Research Group
Established since the early 1990s, we provide a unique regional forum to engage local people in wildlife, nature & the historic environment. This is across all age groups and includes hard-to-reach communities & minority groups. Our objectives include:
- to enable all sections of the community to take part in activities related to environmental and historical conservation issues;
- to collect & collate biodiversity, historical, archaeological and geological data across South Yorkshire; and
- promote & encourage good practice in carrying out historical, ecological and landscape archaeological surveys.
We organise annual conferences on different topics which attracts internationally renowned speakers and people from across the UK and Europe but is also open and accessible to local volunteers.
