Britain’s Peculiar Legacy of Follies, Myths and Fancies
Wednesday, 8th March 2023
7:30 pm to 9:30 pm
Stephen Hill Methodist Church
£3 members; £4 non-members
Join a regular Open Meeting of the Rivelin Valley Conservation Group, when John B Taylor will tell us about the sites and places that recall the unique British way of life, eccentricities, humour, oddities and the myths of history. For example who created and inspired our popular and apocryphal heroes and what is the truth behind larger than life figures. Follies populate the British landscape, but what are they meant to represent?
The small entrance fee includes refreshments after the talk, when there will also be an opportunity to chat to others and the speaker.
All welcome. No need to book.
