Discussion Group – Share your memories of industrial decline in Rotherham

Have you experienced industrial decline in Rotherham and surrounding areas and were born before 1970? Then join us for an informal discussion over tea and coffee in your local library and share your memories of industrial change in Rotherham for a new research project  – all welcome!

The research project as part of which these discussion groups are organised explores feelings of belonging and identity within post-industrial communities in the North of England. The broad aim is to explore how identity and belonging change and how residents’ lived experiences are impacted by significant economic and social change. We hope to provide insights into the feelings of ordinary people, giving them a voice and greater visibility, as well as informing policy to support citizen-led initiatives for redevelopment.
