In 2018 Wessex Archaeology undertook trial trench evaluation at Sheffield Castle. It was the first time the castle had been investigated in a systematic way. Join archaeologist Ashley Tuck, who led the excavations, as he recounts the results of this exciting investigation into the buried remains at castle hill, including the remains of the castle and of the bowling green, slaughterhouses and steelworks that occupied the site after the castle was slighted.
This event is free and open to all, you will receive an email on the 14th of June with details to join the Zoom event. The talk will last for approximately 40 minutes with 20 minutes for questions afterwards. Begins at 7.00pm.
This event is hosted by Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust.
