We are delighted to let you know that our Festival of Village Carols will once again be held at Grenoside Community Centre, Sheffield, on Saturday the 3rd of December 2022, 9.30 am – 11.00 pm. Our special guests are Glen Rock Carolers from York County, Pennsylvania. They will be joined by two groups of carollers from Sheffield, namely from the Sportsman at Lodge Moor and the Old Red Lion at Grenoside.

During the day we will focus on the wonderful carols ‘For All to Sing/Play’ and these are listed on the website https://www.villagecarols.org.uk/. They will be sung as part of the evening’s Grand Sing.

In the afternoon there will be a talk about carolling, ‘Encounters of Carollers from the New World and the Old’, with Darryl Engler and Ian Russell.

The online booking form asks you to opt for SINGER/AUDIENCE or INSTRUMENTALIST/MUSICIAN. If you opt for instrumentalist/musician you must state your instrument.

You can book for the evening only (£15.00) or for the whole day and evening (£32.00). There will be a limited number of lunches available (£15.00). Young people (under 17 years of age) with parents are free – please contact Norma Russell normarussell3@gmail.com. There are six bursaries available for young musicians (under 25 yrs) – please contact Ian Russell ianrussell@abdn.ac.uk.
