Thomas Douglas Peck’s fabulous ‘Growing Up In 1930s’ Hillsborough’ is launched at Weston Park Museum on Wednesday, January 31st, 2024.

The event is open to the public from 1.30pm and this will be the first chance to see and obtain the book via a donation. The Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Colin Ross, will be guest of honour and you’ll get chance to meet representatives from Hillsborough & Owlerton Local History Group that have published the book. The title has been made possible by the Heritage Fund.

Jennifer Morton, chair, Hillsborough & Owlerton Local History Group said: “We’re thrilled to be able to launch the book and hope as many people as possible come to help us celebrate. Thomas Douglas Peck’s book is a unique window into life in the S6 area in the 1930s and it has been an honour to work with his family to finally allow his memoir to see the light of day.”
