History is Here: Revd. Smith, first vicar of Walkley

Walkley developed as a Victorian suburb, rather than growing from an old village community, and it did not have a parish church until St. Mary’s was built in 1869. Revd. Thomas Smith (1826-1901) was quite a character – come and hear all about him and his famous (or, in one case, infamous!) sons.

Entry by donation – £2 suggested. Includes tea/coffee and biscuits served before the talk begins.
