Explore the archaeology of Graves Park in Sheffield on Saturday 16th September with our archaeologist.
Over the course of summer, archaeologists and the public have been busy recording and discovering evidence of how the land under Graves Park has been used over time. The investigations forms part of the on going ‘Finding Lost Norton Park: Digging Deeper For All’ project supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Join our archaeologist on Saturday 16th September (10am-12pm) for a two hour circular walk and discover what has been found so far, as well as what we do know about the rich history of this much loved park.
The walk is FREE FAMILY-FRIENDLY, and no booking is necessary.
The walk will utilise well established footpaths, there is only one location where there will be a deviation from the path. This is in an area of relatively level grassland. The route is gently undulating with one short but steep slope within the centre of the park (to the rear of the Rose Garden Café). Please wear sturdy shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. A drink may be necessary.
