Find out all about Robert Forester Mushet’s discoveries, life, family and profound contribution to the iron and steel industry, in this free talk with engineer, industrial historian and writer, Keith Thomas.
Robert Forester Mushet’s (1811 – 1891) experiments and inventions enabled the transition from iron to steel, but along the way he encountered theft of his ideas, family feuds, betrayal, catastrophe and what he called the “Mushet Curse”. The story of his life is as much about his contribution to industry as it is about people – an eccentric cast of characters in all their facets – that weave in and out of this true story about success, failure, passion and deceit.
