Morecambe Winter Gardens – Virtual Tour

The Winter Gardens in Morecambe are a splendid example of Victorian theatre building. Grade 2* listed, one of only thirty such  surviving in the UK and once called the Albert Hall of the North. It’s been empty for decades, but is now being looked after by a  Preservation Trust which will gradually restore it and bring it back into full use. Sheffield’s own Professor Vanessa Toulmin, of the University of Sheffield, is chair of the Trust and one of the prime movers of the project.
