Learn about the fascinating history of Portland Works and its international importance as the home of stainless steel

Our speaker Anna de Lange was born in Sheffield and has a degree in history and archaeology. She has been involved with Portland Works from the early days of the campaign. Her research has provided masses of material about founder Robert Mosley and Portland Works from about 1860 to the present day. In 2020 her definitive account of Portland Works was published, and she has distilled over 150 years of history into a fascinating and informative talk.

Anna will speak for around an hour and there will be plenty of time for refreshments, a question and answer session and general mingling. All profits from our lectures will be used to help repair and improve Portland Works.

On-street parking is available from 6.30pm, and there are good bus links. Please note the lecture room (Makerspace) is on the first floor up a set of stairs. Unfortunately we cannot currently provide disabled access. The entrance to the building is through the green double doors on Randall Street.
