Sheffield General Cemetery’s 190th Birthday Celebrations

Sheffield General Cemetery turns 190 in May 2026, and is marking the occasion with a long weekend of events celebrating its history, landscape and community.

Across the late May bank holiday weekend and May half-term, the Cemetery will come alive with a rich programme of tours, talks, performances and events.

Cemetery Plants Tour, 11.00am

Throughout the celebrations, the Samuel Worth Chapel will also host a café, bookstall and People Power Exhibition, open 10.00am-4.00pm each day to explore the history, stories and future plans of the Cemetery.
