The four local authorities in South Yorkshire have been awarded funding to create a Local Heritage List. The new project website will be formally launched on Friday 24th September. You can find it at https://local-heritage-list.org.uk/south-yorkshire.

The website will be a one stop shop for anyone wanting to know about or get involved with local listing in South Yorkshire. It will hold the list itself, information about local heritage listing, resources and nomination form for those wanting to nominate candidates and information for those on the assessment panel who will be judging the nominations. There is also a blog and forum for users to share information, ask questions or find out about related events.

To coincide with the launch, there will be a lunchtime (12-1pm) webinar introducing the project and the website and taking you through the process of local listing. This will be followed by another webinar on Friday 1st October, also 12-1pm, which will go into more detail about how to get involved, identifying assets and filling in the nomination form. Both webinars are free and open to everyone, individuals or groups, so please come and join in! You can book using these links:

Over the next few months there will be other events, both online and in person, all over South Yorkshire, to spread the word about the LHL and how people get involved, so look out for these on the events section of the website.
