Talk: The life of Scotland Yard detective Donald Swanson in six key objects

Donald Swanson is not a name that is well-known to modern audiences but he was once one of Victorian England’s most famous detectives, and was the man in charge of the Jack the Ripper investigation. In this one hour talk members of the museum’s collections team will introduce Swanson’s life and work through six objects from the detective’s personal archive, many of which are not currently on public display. As attendance is strictly limited, this talk promises to be a more interactive, personal and intimate experience for visitors, held within the atmospheric spaces of our exhibition galleries.
