Talk: The Sheffield Blitz in six key objects

Friday, 15th December 2023

4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

National Emergency Services Museum

£5 per person

On 12 December 1940 the Blitz came to Sheffield. In this talk – hosted within the museum’s Blitz exhibition – the story of the raids on Sheffield and the role the emergency services played is told through six original objects from our extensive collection. The talk will be led by members of the museum’s collections team.

You will have the chance to get up close and personal with historic objects, many of which are not currently on public display. As attendance is strictly limited, these events promise to be a more interactive, personal and intimate experience for visitors, held within the atmospheric spaces of our exhibition galleries. Tickets cost just £5 per person and can be purchased without museum entry tickets. However, please note that these talks are taking place outside museum opening hours and attendees will not be able to explore the museum. If you would like to combine a talk with a full visit to the museum, please purchase a museum entry ticket in addition to a talk ticket.
