The Last of the Little Mesters?

We look forward to welcoming well known local speaker and historian Peter Machan.  He will be giving an illustrated talk about Sheffield’s Little Mesters including a look at the current scene.  This is a subject close to our hearts as Portland Works is home to a cluster of businesses engaged in traditional crafts, featured in Peter’s book “The Little Mesters.”

Peter has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and information and his talk will provide fascinating insights concerning Sheffield’s traditional trades and their survival into the 21st century.
