Dr. Anwesha Roy is a historian of South Asia and an expert on the history of the Second World War. She studies emotions and political thought. Her talk will explore the first chapter of her second book ‘Imagining Quit India: War, Politics and the Making of a Mass Movement’. Which will be published in the summer of 2025

She will talk about rumours and WWII. And the emotional experience of the war through a study of rumours.

The book gives a fresh view of decolonising histories of WWII by going beyond the European experience.
