Trouble in the Woods: The new ‘Locust Years’ & the destruction of ancient woodland heritage in the UK Day 2
Friday, 26th April 2024
9:30 am to 5:00 pm
Coal Aston Village Hall & Moss Valley Woodlands
£55 full fee; £20 discounted places
This is the second of a two-day event (both days bookable separately) which will focus on the threats to the irreplaceable heritage of ancient woodland and ecology posed by current forestry policies and woodland management prescriptions. There will be presentations in the morning & a field visit in the afternoon. Early booking is advised because numbers are limited. The venue is Coal Aston Village Hall which is an ideal base for the field visit into the Moss Valley woodlands. The day will be led by Ian Rotherham and Andy Alder.
(Day 1 is celebrating the remarkable and unique heritage of ancient woodlands. To do this we introduce recent and current research in woodland archaeology and management and update on progress since the landmark publication of the ‘Woodland Heritage Manual’ in 2008. )
