Val Hewson, Reading Sheffield’s chair and editor, is giving a talk: Victorian Pioneers, the story of Sheffield’s first public libraries – for the South Yorkshire branch of the Victorian Society on Tuesday 6 December. Talks take place at Showroom 5, Paternoster Row, Sheffield S1 2BX, starting at 7.30pm. Entrance is open to everyone, members and non-members, and costs £5.
