What Next for Sheffield? Public Meeting and AGM by Sheffield Civic Trust
Wednesday, 22nd February 2023
6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Charles St. Building, Sheffield Hallam University
Your chance to hear from the experts on exciting developments in Sheffield, from the Local Plan to John Lewis & the Sheffield Castle site.
“The Sheffield Plan vision is that by 2039 Sheffield will be a fair, inclusive and environmentally sustainable city” with housing growth in the city centre and ‘20-minute neighbourhoods’ where all basic facilities could be reached by a 10-minute walk or cycle ride. But what will this actually mean for our city and its people?
What progress has been made on the future of the John Lewis building following its Grade II listing last autumn? What’s the latest on Heart of the City 2 and the ambitious Levelling Up funded plans to create a new public space in Castlegate on the former site of Sheffield Castle, focusing on heritage, culture and sustainability?
Now is your chance to find out and ask the experts your questions.
Join us for Sheffield Civic Trust’s AGM and Open Meeting with guest speakers:
Simon Vincent (Service Manager, Strategic Planning Sheffield City Council) who will speak about Sheffield’s Local Plan
Alan Seasman (Service Manager – City Regeneration and Major Projects Sheffield City Council) who will speak about the main City Centre Regeneration Projects: HoC2, John Lewis, Castlegate.
The event is free to attend but places are limited and must be prebooked on Eventbrite.
The AGM begins at 6pm followed immediately by our guest presentations.
There will be a chance to join Sheffield Civic Trust on the night.
