Friends of Manor Fields Park
Manor Fields Park is a surviving fragment of the Great Sheffield Deer Park that covered a large area to the south of Sheffield and centred on a hunting lodge at nearby Sheffield Manor Lodge. The area has been transformed by industry and agriculture over the years. Since 1999 there has been a 15 year investment programme which has shaped the previously derelict waste land into a distinctive and increasingly popular District Park. Major works have been delivered in phases as resources have become available. The final major infrastructure works were delivered in the summer of 2014.
The Friends were set up as a group because there were people who wanted to make sure that this great space became more widely known and enjoyed by others.
This lively and friendly group of people meet monthly on the first Wednesday of every month holding meetings with a difference (from 7pm). They are always looking for new people to come along and say hello and maybe get involved with some of their activities.
