Friends of Whirlow Brook Park

The Friends of Whirlow Brook Park was formed in March 2021 to restore and maintain the park for the people of Sheffield.

Within the park is Whirlow Brook Hall which was a private house and garden until 1946, when it was acquired by Sheffield Corporation through the generosity of the JG Graves Charitable Trust and the Sheffield Town Trust with a view to making it a public park. The Park was officially opened in 1951.

The house is currently used for weddings and conferences, but open to the public on Heritage Open Days. The park has been sadly neglected because of cuts to Council budgets so the Friends group was set up to help to restore some of the gardens, paths and benches. Volunteers currently work there twice a month.
