Sheffield and District CAMRA
CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale) is considered one of the most successful consumer organisations across Europe. Founded in 1971, today we represent over 190,000 members across the UK. The Sheffield Branch has its origins in the early 1970s.
CAMRA includes a focus on our dimishing pub heritage: leading heritage walks and producing printed material.
For example:
- the book, ‘Sheffield’s Real Heritage Pubs’ is available as a free download
- locally, we lead heritage walks during both Sheffield Beer Week (March) and Heritage Open Days (September)
- the National CAMRA Pub Heritage website includes detail on many heritage pubs across the country
