Finding support for heritage during the COVID-19 crisis
Historic England and the Heritage Alliance have put together information that may be helpful to heritage organisations in adapting to the COVID-19 crisis:
- Historic England: Supporting the Heritage Sector to Manage the Impact of Coronavirus. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see advice links (in the “Other Support” section). Note that the Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund is now closed, but the National Lottery Heritage Emergency Fund is still open to current or previous recipients of a grant.
- Heritage Alliance: includes links to the Heritage Alliance COVID-19 Guidance Hub, designed to provide up-to-date information related to Coronavirus, and its impact on the heritage sector, and the Heritage Alliance COVID-19 Funding Hub, which collates potential funding opportunities for heritage. These are Google documents. In some browsers, you may need to right-click a link to open it.
- Heritage Alliance “Heritage Chat” on digital skills: highlighting some of the key questions and providing some possible answers.
You may also want to promote your online activities on the Sheffield Culture Hub, which links to Ourfaveplaces. Many heritage organisations are already listed here, and even though visits are limited by lockdown, it is still a place to publicise things like virtual tours and home activities.
We hope that you will find this information useful in these difficult times.
