Heritage Open Days

Heritage Open Days Sheffield

The annual Heritage Open Days festival runs between 10 – 19 September 2021 and will see over 70 free events taking place across the Sheffield area, all celebrating our city’s rich historic and cultural heritage.

Heritage Open Days is a grass-roots festival; events are organised by individual organisations, many of them volunteer-led. The Sheffield programme is coordinated by Sheffield Civic Trust and is one of the largest in the country. The theme of this year’s Heritage Open Days is Edible England. Sheffield’s programme includes several examples of Edible England events. You can learn about and sample international vegetarian food at Broomhill Community Library, learn about beer brewing at the Gardeners Rest pub, forage along the riverside, reminisce over vintage cookbooks at the Central Library, and much more!

You can download a Sheffield Heritage Open Days brochure, or pick up a free printed copy from many outlets across the city. More detailed information about individual events is available at www.heritageopendays.org.uk.
