Rivelin Valley Conservation Group seeks new chair

The Rivelin Valley Conservation Group is in its 33rd Year since it began maintaining the local woodland now known as Den Bank Wood, back in 1991. The RVCG Task Team has achieved some amazing success on several audacious projects, maintaining the nature trail and mill ponds with a bunch of enthusiastic volunteers from all walks of life. The RVCG also maintains a local speaker programme at Open Meetings, organises and attends local events, and can offer organised walks and talks. The RVCG is currently involved in other projects including flood reduction, water quality monitoring, and the industrial heritage of the Rivelin Valley.

RVCG is looking for a new Chairperson to take the reins of this very successful group and guide it to new heights through the next decade. We also have vacancies for monitoring Planning applications, a Speaker-Finder, and an Events Organiser.

Experience is not necessary; just enthusiasm for the role as training and support will be given. If you would like to know more about any of these voluntary roles, please email the Committee at rivelin.valley@gmail.com, or talk to Graham Appleby on 07850712988.
